DNCC Best in Business Awards - Entrepreneur of the Year - Finalist 2011

It was a great night, a huge honour to be recognised as a Best in Business Finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2012, to have been asked to enter in the first place was amazing as my website was still in the construction phase at the time. Then to be informed that I had made it to the final three was stunning, it gave me a big boost of confidence in myself as well as in Where to Walkies as a business. With the relatively new concept of providing detailed information on dog walks catering for everyone from singles to families as well providing all kinds of other dog details, giving the members opportunities to learn more and save money on dog products and services. Also to have come second to a life saving product like the fire proof wool, the best man won and more then very happy to have come second. The whole evening was very special, from wearing an evening dress instead of my normal dog walking gear and muddy walking boots, through to seeing Dino and Pete from the radio who I had previously meet and of course having my dad by my side along with Lauren and Marc who are the amazing team who took my head full of ideas and turned them in to the reality that is Where to Walkies. We have totally got the bug for the "awards" and will be entering again, hopefully to be successful in 2012.

Enterprising Women's Award - Finalist 2011

Enterprising Womens Award

It was a magical night to be at Chatsworth House, such a stunning venue for the Enterprising Women's Awards 2011, to be in a room full of my peers.I was very proud to have my website which was still very embryonic at the time short listed, was amazing. Where to Walkies being a relatively new website and a different concept of providing detailed information on dog walks catering for everyone from singles to families as well providing all kinds of other dog details, providing the members different opportunities to join in with the free group dog walks or to learn more at the free dog talks. The whole night was very special, which I was lucky enough to share with my close friend Fiona, who is a dog walker and has also contributed to the blog "Dog Walking Can Help Avoid Diabetes" Fiona was my escort for the evening where normally she is travelling the world lecturing at conferences on Diatetes in her roll a Diabetes Consultant Nurse. Even though we did not win we were very happy to have gone and shared a table with a company that did win in a different category. We will of course be entering again, hopefully to be successful in 2012.
